Brabus T13 Tunes the Benz 600

BOTTROP, Germany — Brabus is displaying its T13 tuning kit at the Essen Motor Show, for owners of Mercedes 600 models.

The T13 boosts the performance of the Mercedes 5.5-liter V12 in the CL600, S600 and SL600 — for a price. The standard modifications cost just under 20,000 euros, or $26,355 at current exchange rates.

The T13 kit includes new turbochargers, a more efficient intercooling system and low-backpressure catalytic converters, as well as reprogrammed engine electronics. Output climbs from 517-630 horsepower, with torque jumping from 612-738 pound-feet.

Brabus tested a Mercedes S600 with the T13 kit at Italy's Nardo circuit and achieved a top speed of 203.2 mph. Acceleration from zero to 60 mph takes less than 4.3 seconds.
