Detroit Preview: GM's Global Concepts To Debut in Motown
DETROIT — General Motors has announced that four of its global concept cars will make their North American debuts during the upcoming Detroit auto show.
The automaker will also host a celebrity-studded event starring such personalities as Carmen Electra and Mario Lopez at a new venue called GM Style.
The concepts include the Holden EFIJY, a pillarless custom coupe with a V8, which was unveiled at the 2006 Australian International Motor Show. GM says the car is a reinterpretation of the 1953 FJ Holden.
The Chevrolet T2X, a cross between a compact SUV and a sport coupe, was originally shown at the 2006 Seoul Motor Show.
The three-door Opel Antara GTC crossover will also be unveiled in Detroit,
along with the Chevrolet WTCC racing-car concept which was shown earlier in Paris.
GM Style, slated for January 6 in Detroit, will feature 17 GM vehicles paired with celebrities and fashions. Other celebrities in attendance at the event will include Vivica A. Fox, Petra Nemcova and Rachel Zoe.
