Absolutely Fabia

Do not adjust your monitors. This is not a Suzuki Swift with the bonnet from a Roomster grafted on. In fact, it's our first look at Skoda's brand new Fabia.

Skoda reckons it has a more youthful look, but also says the new Fabia has more space than the car it replaces by being 22mm longer and 47mm taller. There's also a bigger boot.

Seven engines will be on offer when the Fabia goes on sale in January 2008 in the UK, and a six-speed gearbox will be offered for the first in time in the Fabia range.

We'll get our first proper look at the new Fabia at the Geneva motor show in March, so you'll be able to see for yourself that we haven't been messing about with the pictures.
