Well, here's a novel way to give your children their first taste of life in the fast lane. These honed down hot-rods are up for auction from H&H just in time for Christmas.

There's plenty of choice, with everything from a replica Batmobile to a proper dragster. And you'll be pleased to know they only have a 60cc petrol engine to play with.

All of the miniature hot-rods are the work of Brian Eyre, whose own grandchildren have raced them at Santa Pod raceway and set world records in children's drag racing.
