2007 Toyota Tundra Launch Is Delayed
Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday it is holding off sending the 2007 Tundra full-size pickup to dealerships until a new, larger V8 engine is available.
The Japanese automaker is expected to have the larger 5.7-liter V8s ready to install in January, according to the Detroit Free Press. It wants all of its 1,200 U.S. dealers to have a Tundra with the largest engine when the truck goes on sale.
The 2007 Toyota Tundra will come with three engine options: a 4.0-liter V6, a 4.7-liter V8 and a new 5.7-liter V8. The new engine will be sourced out of the company's Huntsville, Alabama engine plant.
