Porsche Limited-Edition Boxster and Boxster S
ATLANTA — Shown originally as a styling exercise during the New York auto show, Porsche has decided to produce a limited-edition Boxster and Boxster S coated in a bright orange paint previously only available on the 415-horsepower Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Built on the standard Boxster platform, 500 Limited Editions will be produced, 250 each of the Boxster and Boxster S. The roadsters will be outfitted with standard features typically sold as options on the Boxster models, including black wheels with silver rims, Porsche's SportDesign body-kit package and an Alcantara-trimmed interior.
The SportDesign package includes spoiler lips, an automatically extending redesigned rear spoiler and modified rear trim with an integrated diffuser that improves aerodynamics by reducing lift on both the front and rear axles.
A performance-enhancing sport exhaust system with silver-colored twin tips is included, as are orange passenger safety bars.
The color scheme carries over to the cabin with seats, carpet, dash, door panels and other soft surfaces in black and orange. Adding to the performance theme is the Alcantara trim, a suede-like material used on performance models including the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. Alcantara helps occupants stay planted in the interior during aggressive driving
Pricing for the Porsche Limited Edition Boxster and Boxster S has not yet been announced.
