Challenger Pics Break Out from Dodge
Dodge's Challenger concept isn't due to be shown publicly until next week - but pictures of the two-door musclecar concept have hit the Web a full week early.
The concept sits four inches shorter than the Dodge Charger sedan upon which it's based, but the proportions are similar to those of the original 1970 Challenger - making the new concept a much larger vehicle than today's Mustang.
The concept sports a 425-hp, 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 and a six-speed manual transmission.
So outfitted, Chrysler says the new Challenger could hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph. Stay tuned for more on the Challenger, the Ford Shelby GT500, and the Chevrolet Camaro concept as the Detroit show goes retro next week.
