new Land Rover Discovery
When we heard that the new Land Rover Discovery went on sale today with the option of the all-new Land Rover Watch, we had visions of some sort of rugged titanium timepiece.
But Land Rover Watch is actually a vehicle tracking system available on the new Disco range.
If those pesky rural thieves nab your 4x4, magical GPS-based machinations will whirr into action, informing the police of the car's whereabouts.
However, this nifty bit of technology will set you back a grand on top of the basic range prices.
The entry-level TDV6 starts at £27,215, rising to £48,720 for the top-of-the-range V8 HSE.
There's also the option of a premium navigation system with hybrid television, capable of receiving analogue and digital TV signals, but this will cost you another £500.
But you know what they say. There's no such thing as a free launch.
