Smack the pony
A salutary lesson. Should you take it upon yourself to destroy a 550 Maranello after a forecourt row... make sure you get the right one.
Unlike David Higgins. The director of a central heating firm in Middlesex trashed the Ferrari when he felt angry at a cash dispute with the owner of a garage.
Thinking the £65,000 Fezza belonged to his adversary, Higgins repeatedly rammed the car with his pick-up truck in a 'moment of madness'.
Garage owner Richard Lukins had the car parked outside his north London premises, but the Ferrari belonged to customer Matthew Sala.
After smashing the car, Higgins phoned the police and waited to be arrested. He was found guilty and fined £1,000 plus costs.
Poor Matthew Sala, on the other hand, faces a battle through the civil courts to get compensation for his wrecked Ferrari.
