It's official: Audi Q7 6.0 V12 TDI
Audi will be showing at the di Paris auto show the Q7 V12 TDI, the most powerful diesel passenger car ever produced, with a 6.0-liters V12 turbodiesel engine that outputs 500 ps / 1.000 Nm.
Performance data is pretty impressive: this titanic diesel engine drags the Q7 from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The engine is inspired by the V12 TDI that won in Le Mans with the R10, but with an angle between banks of 60° (instead of 90°). Power is 500 ps, while torque is 1.000 Nm, costant between 1.750 and 3.000 rpm. The same data as the Mercedes "65 AMG" biturbo V12.
The injection pressure is 2.000 bar and Audi says that this engine is already compliant with the Euro 5 emission standard. Average fuel consumption is 8,4 km/liter.
The Q7 V12 TDI will be distinguishable by the chrome grille, the front bumper with much bigger air intakes and the LED position lights. The exhaust tubes are very similar to those of the A8 6.0 W12.
