Scion Announces Price Hike for Stretched 2008 xB
TORRANCE, Calif. — Scion has announced that its redesigned 2008 xB will start at $16,230, including a $580 destination charge, for models with a five-speed manual transmission. The 2008 Scion xB with a four-speed automatic transmission will start at $17,180, including shipping. The destination charge for dealerships in the Gulf states and the Southeast U.S. is $635, Toyota said.
The new xB arrives in Scion dealerships in early May.
The base 2008 xB costs $1,620 more than the previous model. The 2008 xB with an automatic transmission costs $1,770 more than the previous model, which is almost a 12 percent increase in price. The new xB is a foot longer and almost 3 inches wider than its predecessor.
The redesigned xB is powered by a 158-horsepower 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine. The xB's four-speed automatic transmission now has sequential shifting, a first for automatic four-speeds in the Scion lineup.
Standard equipment includes stability control with traction control, antilock brakes, front and rear curtain airbags, 16-inch steel wheels and cruise control.
