2007 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Photos, Company Plans World Debut in Detroit
The up-to-seven-seat GL-Class is the third of the new Benz triplets from Alabama; the others are the M-Class and the R-Class. The GL-Class will make its world debut at January's North American International Auto Show. Mercedes said its G-Class SUV "will continue to be marketed beside the new GL."The GL-Class will come with four-wheel independent suspension, speed-sensitive power steering, and 18-inch all-season tires. It has a 7,500-pound towing capacity.
Mercedes said the GL-Class will feature power-folding third-row seats, a glass sunroof with a fixed glass panel over the third row, and burl walnut wood trim.
An optional off-road package includes a two-speed transfer case, a modified air suspension that can increases ground clearance to 12 inches, and locks for the center and rear differentials.
