2011 Chevrolet Aveo

With EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 35 mpg (manual-transmission models), the Chevrolet Aveo is great at squeezing the most from a gallon of gas. It does it with a rare combination of driving fun, smart design and amenities that are hard to match in the segment.

The 2011 Aveo lineup includes the sedan and Aveo5, a sporty five-door hatchback. Their 'tall car' design delivers roomy interiors characterized by thoughtful details and refinement, as well as the ability to accommodate passengers more than 6 feet tall in each of the five seating positions.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback will soon hit the market

Chevrolet Cruze is hugely appreciated by the automobile enthusiasts all over the world. Relatively cheap and reliable, it offers satisfying comfort and high safety. Cruze saloon was launched in the spring of 2009 and it was elected the AUTOBEST car of 2010 by a jury of leading auto writers in Central and Eastern Europe.

Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe commented: “Cruze is turning out to be a real success story. We are selling it in 70 countries around the world and it has recently surpassed the Aveo as our top selling passenger car nameplate globally.”

Because of the huge hatchback market in Europe, it is now turn to Cruze Hatch to hit the market.
2011 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback

“Hatchbacks play a critical role in many markets. The total compact segment in Europe represents around 4.8 million units which is over a quarter of the total market, with hatchbacks representing around 65% of that volume. We therefore expect to see increased business in a number of regions, while sending out a signal that Chevrolet is now a serious mainstream player in Europe.”, Mr. Brannon added.

So far in 2010, Cruze tops the compact saloon sales charts in many of the larger European markets including Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the U.K., where it is exceeding forecasted sales.

Outside of Europe, Cruze’s sales momentum is equally evident. In China alone, Chevrolet has sold nearly 90 000 Cruze since the start of the year, while the saloon is also selling well in Russia, parts of South America, and in India and other emerging markets.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback has attractive sweeping coupe roofline and short overhangs at both the front and rear. The car has the same dynamic stance as the saloon, so it can’t be mistaken.

Cargo capacity for the Cruze hatchback is close to 400 litres and will feature 60/40 split rear seating.

Chevrolet Cruze 5-door hatchback will go on sale across Europe mid 2011. The price list will be available in the beginning of the next year.

Geneva '08 Preview Chevy Aveo 3-door

Chevy has completed the Aveo facelifts and will introduce the updated Euro-market 3-door at the Geneva Motor Show next month. You can sum it up like this: it's like the Aveo5, minus the doors for second-row passengers. The rear windows pop open for ventilation and an 84-horse 1.2L or step-up 1.4L that generates 101 hp will supply power.

Chevy Aveo 3-doorChevy Aveo 3-door-2The interior styling carries over, as do the exterior visuals that share the Aveo 5-door's gigantic grille, fake fender vents, and the like. If this were offered in the US, it might make a nice alternative to the Yaris Liftback -- also a 3-door.

2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5 Preview

Chevrolet's new Aveo5 hatchback makes its public debut today at the Los Angeles auto show, with a pricetag that will make it the least expensive vehicle sold in the U.S. when it goes on sale next year, Chevrolet says.

2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5 2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5 -2The new Aveo5 will also get 26/34 mpg, thanks to a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter four with 107 horsepower and 106 pound-feet of torque, and either a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic. A driving range of 400 miles is promised.

Available in base, LS, and LT versions, the Aveo5 arrives wearing new sheetmetal with a more sophisticated look than the previous version (the Aveo four-door sedan was renewed last year). Built in South Korea by GM Daewoo, the Aveo5 carries Chevrolet's new signature front-end styling, with a gold Chevy bow framed by a larger grille. Larger taillamps and an available rear spoiler dress up the basic econobox look nicely.

In terms of running gear, the Aveo5 is strictly by-the-numbers Asian economy car: MacPherson struts, a torsion-beam rear, and a short 97.7-inch wheelbase. Fourteen-inch wheels are standard, while 15-inchers (and anti-lock brakes) are optional.
