2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon Review

"CTS-V Sport Wagon is a natural extension of the V series and CTS range offers uncompromising performance, car enthusiasts who want the extra space and the wagon," said Don Butler, director of marketing Cadillac. "V-Series Sport Wagon is another hallmark of the dramatic presence and power of Cadillac vehicles."

The exterior is finished in silver, midnight, saw the Cadillac Sixteen concept, and emphasize the shiny liquid silver finish wheels and black chrome grille mesh inserts. The central rear upper spoiler, high-mounted stop lamp are also unique in Car Show.

Inside the car the performance CTS-V Sport Wagon is lined with black leather accents with unique Alcantara ®. The top of the door panels and dash top are covered in the same premium leather accented with wood sapele midnight, while the microfiber material and stitching is applied to the lower door panels, the pillars, console lid, roof and the center of the wheel. The car show features fine grain black leather Recaro seats trimmed with Alcantara ® inserts. The seat inserts are located in the center and accented with dark gray stitching, while the V-Series logo is laser engraved on the back seat. Obsidian black with accents of the center console, steering wheel and console door panels.

The custom color and show car trim components indicates the potential direction of the color and finish in the future Cadillac models. These items are not yet intended for production, but represents the desire of Cadillac to assess customer reaction to new colors and finishing options.

The production CTS-V Sport Wagon.

CTS-V Sport Wagon will go into production in late 2010, with sales in North America, followed by export markets, including Europe and the Middle East. The new model turns the V-series offers, including all variants of the CTS family sedan, hatchback and Sport Wagon body.

Like its sedan and coupe stable mates, the Sport Wagon CTS-V driven by a compressor, 6.2-liter V-8 that delivers 556 hp (415 kW) and backed by a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission speeds. A series of technical and functional elements complement the powertrain, including Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires mounted on rims performance 19-inch forged aluminum.

Like other CTS V-Series Sportwagon models incorporate a single grid which doubles the air flow front to contribute to its high performance features. It is also visually identified by an aggressive front fascia and raised middle section of the aluminum hood made room for the compressor. It mounts on 19-inch wheels forged aluminum are available in lacquer finish or polished.

The rest of the exterior design conveys the drama of the new CTS Sport Wagon, including the following:

• Signature V-shaped deck and tailgate Topic

• vertical tail lamps with high technology, light-pipe

• Power supply opening product divisions (using the button on the keychain or vehicle)

• CHMSL integrated spoiler

• Integrated management of the burden of roof bars available for a uniform appearance

• Cargo Management System Adjustable floor insulation

• UltraView available panoramic sunroof.

On the back is a pair of 3 inches (76 mm), chrome exhaust tips, which cover a dual exhaust system performance grade stainless steel that will maintain a shiny longer than stainless.

Of course, it is the characteristic hallmark of a wagon, and the V-Series Sportwagon offers with 25.4 cubic feet (720 liters) of space behind the rear seat and 58 cubic meters (1644 liters) with folded - almost doubled the available space the sedan.

Supercharged performance.

The 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 pushes the cart CTS-V Sport - the same engine found in the acclaimed V-Series sedan and coupe models. Rated at 556 horsepower (415 kW) and 551 lb.-ft. of torque (747 Nm) is the most powerful engine offered in Cadillac's history.

The engine is equipped with an intercooled Eaton vortex series Twin ™ (TVS ™) supercharger. This concept of single compressor, uses two four-lobe rotors, twisted 160 degrees. Typical compressor has three bedrooms twisted 60 degrees. The fourth lobe and added twist, when combined with the single air intake and exhaust, creating smoother, more efficient airflow into the engine. In addition to improving the overall efficiency, the compressor noise and superior vibration characteristics compared to more common designs.

A pair of six-speed transmissions are offered on the CTS-V Wagon Sport - a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with twin-disc clutch and a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic with shift controls on the steering wheel. The steering wheel does not require movement of valve lever up and leave immediately / drop gear selection. Performance Algorithm Shifting allows the transmission of the car with a pattern of change based on sustained performance in high-performance driving. As with many models of Cadillac, the driver simply slide the shifter in the manual "gate" to set the mode of transmission.

The torque is channeled through the gearbox to a six-speed rear axle has a high performance limited slip differential at the rear of a cast iron housing for increased thermal management and asymmetrical half-shafts to manage them transparent incredible torque supercharged engine. The unique design includes alternating half-size trees, which also contributes to dynamically balance the fluctuations in torque from side to side, effectively eliminating the "power hop."

Magnetic Ride Control.
V-Series reaches extraordinary levels of performance bond, but also maintains the balance of the luxury car in "normal" driving. The technical facilitator of two-mode driving character is Cadillac Magnetic Ride Control history. It is standard on the CTS-V Sport Wagon, and is the technology of the world's fastest-reacting suspension. It uses shocks controlled by Advanced magneto-rheological technology, rather than mechanical valves, greatly accelerating response time and accuracy.

Electronic sensors on all four wheels literally "read the road" every millisecond, making adjustments constantly damping to create a command almost instantaneous and extremely precise movements of the body. This is particularly advantageous for a high performance car, as it helps to keep the car very composed when cornering hard acceleration, braking and other dynamic maneuvers.

Magnetic Ride dampers also allows a wider range of damping control to optimize ride and handling in all driving conditions. The CTS-V Sport Wagon is offered in several control measures, two selectable (Tour and Sport), which allows the driver to tailor the suspension for Gran Turismo or more mental performance driving.

Cadillac pioneered Magnetic Ride Control, with the first production in 2002, after decades of research on magneto-rheological science. Today, technology is only shown in a short list of the world's finest vehicles, including Cadillac V-Series models, the Escalade luxury SUV and the STS and DTS luxury sedan.

Brembo brakes and tires Michelin Pilot Sport PS2.

CTS-V Sport Wagon includes sophisticated braking and tire, in collaboration with two companies known for high-performance technology: Brembo and Michelin. Brembo brakes are at the four corners and include powerful, six-piston calipers in front and four-piston calipers in the rear.

Large ventilated discs allow a strong initial braking force while optimizing the thermal resistance and eliminate fade. The Brembo brake discs are manufactured with "dual-cast" technology that combines cast iron and aluminum, resulting in superior performance and weight loss.

CTS-V Sport Wagon is also an electronic parking brake, which allows good dead pedal position, which is important for high-performance driving.

Michelin worked with Cadillac engineers to develop an exclusive Pilot Sport PS2 tires designed specifically for the CTS-V. Rings supported by high-grip track conditions, giving excellent road performance.

Comfort, style and technique.
The interior of the CTS-V Wagon Sport is shared with the sedan, including streamlined tools, LED lighting accents and hand-cut and sewn.

CTS-V Sport Wagon model of production will come standard with performance seats with perforated suede microfibre inserts designed to keep the driver and front passenger in place during cornering. Recaro performance seats are optional and provide excellent support for the conduct lively. These 14 seats include adjustable and performance tires tighten controls in the seat cushions and folders.

Supplement the benefits of the seats are behind the wheel of thickness and gauge package is designed for easy reference at a glance the performance driving. Tion tools are in large bold type, including LED-illuminated function of "tracer" a tachometer that flashes as the engine approaches the red line. Layout indicator includes an indicator of thrust, and the display of lateral acceleration.

Obsidian black with accents of the center console, steering wheel and console door panels. The steering wheel and the lever of production are available in Alcantara, the nature of provision of luxe suede. These details are elegant to the touch and support the driver in high-performance driving. Just like every CTS, the V-Series includes a hand-stitched panel of instruments, door panels and center console.

Advanced infotainment features extend to the V-Series. Standard equipment includes an advanced navigation system with a screen deployable, Bose 5.1 digital surround sound, factory-installed Bluetooth phone integration and a 40 GB hard drive that allows the customer to keep a large library of music files. The system downloads files via USB or dash DVD / CD player and provides hidden clues that must be searched and selected by the radio controls.
