1947 Nissan Tama

If you thought that stupid-looking electric cars such as the absurd G-Wiz were a recent phenomenon, think again.

1947 Nissan Tama This pleasantly daft specimen dates back to 1947. It's called the Tama and was Nissan's first electric car.

With a maximum speed of 22mph and a range of 40 miles on full battery, the Tama's performance was (perhaps worryingly) not all that far shy of modern innovations like the G-Wiz.
The Tama is being showcased as part of the 22nd Electric Vehicle Symposium (better known as EVS22), running all this week in Yokohama.

With fuel-cell technology high on most manufacturers' agenda, expect plenty in the way of 'original' urban transport solutions.
