Rolls Royce Phantom in matte black finish

The matte black paint finish always gives a car a mysterious appearance and what more could you wish for when your car’s called ‘Phantom’. We have no idea who this special Rolls belongs to or where it’s located.

Rolls Royce Phantom-1Rolls Royce Phantom-2Anyways, this car really looks like a ghost: matte black finish, blacked out wheels, even the Spirit of Ecstasy got blacked out too. The black theme is applied to interior too, only this time it’s a glossy piano finish that somehow contrasts the ‘ghostly’ exterior. You have to admit, the Rolls is pretty cool, in a very morbid way.

Geneva 2008 - Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe

Rolls Royce is going to show the Phantom Coupè in Geneva. The third model in the Rolls lineup is a very close relative of the Drophead Coupè convertible, with the same 6.75-liter V12 engine (460 ps, 720 Nm) and similar suicide doors.

According to Rolls Royce, the Phantom Coupè is the most driver-oriented car in its line-up, with a very rigid chassis, which shouldn't compromise ride comfort. Production will start in the summer of 2008. Prices still undefined.

Rolls Royce Phantom CoupeRolls Royce Phantom Coupe-2The Phantom Coupé features rear-hinged coach doors which add considerably to the ease of access to the rear lounge seats as well as to the overall aesthetics. Crucially, they aid the overall stiffness of the body as the rear hinged doors allow for an uninterrupted A-pillar helping to make this the most torsionally rigid Rolls-Royce ever. A brushed steel finish of A-pillar and bonnet, as seen for the first time on 100EX, is also available for the Coupé.
At the rear is a spacious picnic boot. A split tail compartment that opens in two parts, gives easy access to 395 litres of space. The lower tailgate also provides a comfortable seating platform for two adults when lowered.

At the core of the Phantom Coupé is an advanced aluminium chassis, perhaps the single most significant component in delivering the marque’s legendary refinement. Lightweight and exceptionally strong, it impacts positively on ride comfort, handling and safety. Hand made, it requires over 130 meters of welding to create each body.

Rolls-Royce Releases Images and Pricing on Phantom Silver

Only 25 copies of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Silver will be made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the legendary Silver Ghost. And, as you might expect, the special model comes with a raft of goodies, including custom champagne flutes detailed with silver, silver tread plates and a solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy.

Rolls Royce Phantom SilverRolls Royce Phantom Silver 2Rolls Royce Phantom Silver 3Rolls-Royce said the Phantom Silver carries a $43,800 premium over the standard Phantom price. The base Phantom starts at $333,350 in the United States.

The Phantom Silver features a new exterior paint, "metallic ghost silver," and is equipped with 21-inch wheels with chrome centers. The cabin gets either rose leaf or crème light leather and Santos Palissander wood veneer. The company notes that the same veneer is used "on a specially designed presentation box that houses the key, two solid silver key fobs and a specially commissioned solid silver Conway Stewart fountain pen."

Rolls-Royce said more than 6,000 Silver Ghosts were built between 1907 and 1925, the majority of which are still in good running order.
