Hyundai to show sports car concept, next-gen Santa Fe at Detroit show, prices new Azera
Hyundai's HCD-9 Talus concept car, which is set to make its worlwide debut at the Detroit show, will provide 'a glimpse of the future in the sports car segment,' according to the automaker. The HCD-9 will be unveiled along with the world debut of the company's next generation Santa Fe ute.
Hyundai this week also announced pricing for its 2006 Azera. The all-new fullsize sedan will start at $24,995 when it arrives in showrooms shortly.
The vehicle will come standard with a 3.8-liter V6 rated at 263 hp, electronic stability control and eight airbags. Hyundai says the car gets 19 mpg in city driving and 28 on the highway. Built on a modified Sonata platform, the Azera will vie in the full-sized car segment, against such competitors as the Toyota Avalon and Ford Five Hundred.
The Azera Limited trim level starts at $27,495 and adds 17-inch alloy wheels, leather trimmed and heated seats and a power rear sunshade.
The top trim level, called the Azera Limited with Ultimate Package, starts at $29,995. It features a 10-speaker audio system, six-disc CD changer, power sunroof, telescopic steering column and rain-sensing wipers.
