Smart diesel arrives in Feb '09 (UK)

Sources within Mercedes have revealed that the oil-burning ForTwo will arrive in the UK.The car, which produces 44bhp, has a 799cc three-cylinder diesel unit, can do 85mpg combined and produces only 88g/km of CO2. By current standards, this would make it the most fuel-efficient car sold in the UK. The CDI already accounts for 30% of ForTwo sales worldwide. The car will go on sale in February 2009
