Nissan 370Z to be unveiled in October
The latest rumor doing the rounds in the automotive world suggests that Nissan is working on an updated Z-car with a new engine and a possibly a new facelift. The rumors have it that the updated Z-car will feature the same engine that currently powers the Infiniti G37 Coupe and will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October.
With the G37 being powered by a 330 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine, the new Z-car would be designated the 370Z. The VQ37 engine that powers the G37 Coupe features Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS). The engine currently produces a maximum 330 hp at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft. of torque at 5,200 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters or a six-speed manual transmission in the G37. Whether Nissan opts to up the power out put by the time the new Z-car is revealed remain to be seen.
